Block 14, which is the only block of Galp Energia's portfolio in Angola currently producing, reached 17.8 thousand barrels a day in 2010. This production came from the Kuito, BBLT and Tômbua-Lândana fields. Since 1995, when the production licence was awarded, block 14 has undertaken an intensive exploration programme that led to 12 discoveries,.
This block, where Galp Energia has produced oil since December 1999, is composed of eight areas of development: Kuito, Benguela-Belize-Lobito-Tomboco (BBLT), Tômbua-Lândana, Negage, Gabela, Malange, Lucapa and Menongue.
One of the main projects under way at block 14 is the development of Tômbua-Lândana field. The production of this field started in August 2009.
