Corporate responsibility policy

Galp Energia clearly accepts its position as a company of reference within the Portuguese business framework, in addition to its multinational dimension via its direct operations in 13 countries and the global nature of its commercial activities. The Company also wishes to put all of its positive energy into building a better world, as far as its size permits, thereby enabling future generations to develop in an even more sustainable way

This vision is also enhanced by the fact that Galp Energia has a long history of over 165 years, spanning three centuries since its inception in 1846. The Company has left a vast legacy, having actively contributed to the development, involvement and sustainability both of the communities of which it is a part and also its stakeholders.

Corporate Responsibility is therefore particularly important in social, economic and environmental terms. These areas are reflected in Galp Energia’s Corporate Responsibility Policy and in the commitment and performance of the Company’s Top Management.

Galp Energia’s Corporate Responsibility Policy is much more than a mere set of intentions. Indeed, it is a series of good practices that the Company employs on a daily basis in its activities, aiming to systematically achieve excellent levels of performance for its strategies and areas of priority action.

Corporate Responsibility, and namely Social Responsibility, is one of the key foundations underlying Galp Energia’s activity and its communications. As such, work is already in progress to design and implement a Social Responsibility Management System based on the references and requirements of the Portuguese Standard NP 4469-1 and the guidelines set out in ISO 26000.
