Promoting road safety is a priority for Galp Energia. This is achieved via the adoption of the Automobile Safety Policy, which affects all employees who travel as part of their duties in the Company. It also sets out minimum requirements for the vehicles being used and actively promotes adequate training for drivers, by establishing a schedule for defensive driving courses which is fixed in line with the number of kilometers travelled for the Company.
Regarding the transportation of fuels, chemicals, lubricants and asphalts, a number of requirements have been defined regarding vehicle safety (truck and tank), driver training and additional equipment, which go well beyond the compulsory legal requirements.
Galp Energia believes that adopting these commitments has been crucial in reducing road accidents involving vehicles used by the Company on a daily basis.
