According to DGEG data, the industrial sector is the second largest energy consumer in the country, representing around 30% of final energy consumption.
In the last decade, on average, for each one million euros of gross value added generated, industry consumed around 206 toe of energy.
Given this context, efficient energy management and its associated reduction in carbon intensity are critical factors for strengthening the sustainable competitiveness of Portuguese industry and this is one of the main concerns of Galp Energia in its relationships with its industrial customers.
